This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver posy holder has a conical shaped form.

The surface of the holder is embellished with alternating bands of impressive interlacing pierced rope twist decoration and subtly incurved panels of bright cut engraved scrolling leaf ornamentation.

The vessel terminates with a bright cut engraved decorated knop accented with applied ball motifs.

This Victorian posy holder is fitted with an impressive interlacing rope twist decorated handpiece, matching the pierced ornamentation to the body.

This impressive example of antique silverware is fitted with a silver fancy link chain, terminating with a split pin.

The featured pin penetrates the holder allowing a posy/nosegay/tussie-mussie to be secured securely.

This antique posy holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The pierced decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the holder are all very clear; the first portion of maker’s mark has been pierced and lost in production.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Victorian silverware.
