This exceptional antique sterling silver cup with stand has a plain campania shaped form onto a circular spreading, knopped pedestal foot.

The bulbous lower portion of the body is encircled with a chased fluted decorated border below a cast and applied interlacing band.

The flared upper rim of this antique sterling silver cup is ornamented with an impressive chased egg and tongue decorated border.

This silver antique presentation cup is fitted with two very impressive cast and applied ribbed handles accented with a gadroon decorated knop to the handpiece, in addition to grotesque figural masks to the terminals.

This exceptional example of antique silverware retains the original hallmarked plain tiered push fit cover surmounted with the original hallmarked cast and applied foliate, bud style finial; this secures to the interior with a gilt screw fitment.

The interior of the cup and cover retains the original gilding.

This fine antique silver cup is fitted to the original circular ebonised plinth, featuring the original, hallmarked vacant silver inscription plaque; the plaque may be engraved with a personal inscription if so desired.

This antique sterling silver cup with stand is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The applied, cast and chased decoration is all very sharp.

There are natural fire marks to the surface of the body, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cup, presentation plaque and interior of the cover, in addition to the part hallmarks to the finial are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silver trophy cup.
