Description


This exceptional antique George II sterling silver salver has a plain circular shaped form.


The surface of the salver is ornamented with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting a cross charged with a tower with a fret bedlets and mascles to each quarter.


The raised shaped border is embellished with applied decoration to the rim accented with shell designs to the scrolling incurves.


This large salver is supported by the four fine and impressive volute scrolling feet ornamented with a simplified leaf design.

Condition


This antique salver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The applied decoration is very crisp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the salver are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
