Sterling Silver Salver by Lowe & Sons - Vintage (1962)

This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver salver has an oval shaped form.

The surface of the vintage salver is plain and unembellished.

The raised Chippendale shaped border is ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim.

The salver is supported by four impressive scrolling hoof style feet.

This impressive example of vintage silverware was crafted by John Foulkes Lowe and Margaret Joyce Lowe who traded as Lowe & Sons, registered in June 1962.

This impressive salver is struck with Chester Assay Office date letter 'M' (1 July - 24 August 1962), which indicates this was one of the final pieces ever hallmarked at this Assay office which closed on 24 August 1962.

An item showing such specific dates for both a maker and assay office in such a short time frame is a rare piece.
