The pieces of this exceptional, antique Edward VIII straight* sterling silver cutlery set for six persons have been crafted in the Sandringham pattern.

Each spoon and fork is embellished with a paralleling border to the handle, in addition to a pointed terminal.

The components of this canteen were crafted by the Sheffield silversmith Emile Viner of Viner's Ltd in 1936.

This impressive set benefits from the original knives fitted with the original composite handles and blades bearing the maker's mark 'By Appointment to H.M. The King, Viners Ltd, Sheffield', in addition to 'Stainless De-luxe'.

The blade of the butter knife is embellished with a textured finish to the rounded of terminal.

This exceptional canteen of cutlery is fitted to the original and impressive veneered oak wood lift up lid canteen box, with velvet and satin lined interior.

The cover of the box bears panels of veneered oak and the anterior surface of the box features exceptional stepped decoration, all archetypal of the iconic Art Deco movement.

This sterling silver Sandringham pattern cutlery set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The original composite handles have some minor discolouration.

The service has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The original box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of each spoon and fork handle are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
