These exceptional antique George III sterling silver sauce tureens have a rectangular rounded form.

The body of each tureen is embellished with flat chased scrolling leaf and floral decoration incorporating a large cartouche to either side; the cartouche to one side bears the engraved initial 'h'.

The rims of the tureens are encompassed with exceptional applied broad gadroon decorated borders accented with scrolling leaf designs to the corners.

These impressive silver tureens retain the original hallmarked domed push fit covers ornamented with further flat chased decoration and surmounted with exceptional cast hallmarked sterling silver scrolling leaf decorated loop handles.

These antique sterling silver tureens are fitted with two further handles embellished with leaf decorated handpieces in addition to large and impressive leaf decorated terminals in junction with the body.

Each tureen is supported by four impressive shaped cast silver legs with paw style feet and further leaf decoration to the sockets.

These sauce tureens are presented with fine and impressive associated London made, antique Victorian sterling silver sauce ladles crafted in the Fiddle pattern by Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater.

Date: 1815

These antique sterling silver sauce tureens are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some surface blemishes to the surface of the tureens, however they can be considered to be in presentation condition.

The flat chased decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved initials are very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each tureen and reverse of each ladle, in addition to the part hallmarks to the interior of each cover and finial are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these items of Georgian silverware.
