Description

These exceptional antique George VI sterling silver sauceboats have a plain panelled boat shaped form onto a swept pedestal foot.

The body of each piece is plain and embellished with an applied moulded border to the rim.

The sauceboats are fitted with fine and impressive C shaped handles featuring an applied moulded Art Deco style design to the upper portion, emanating to a moulded border to each handpiece.

These exceptional sterling silver Art Deco sauceboats were crafted by the renowned Birmingham silversmiths Elkington & Co Ltd in 1938; these pieces will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system one sauceboat is struck with the date letter 'N' and the other bears 'O'.
