Description


This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver scent flask has a cylindrical rounded form.


The anterior surface of this Victorian scent bottle is embellished with impressive bright cut engraved framed scene depicting a boy perched on a wall 'XX Miles to York', picking fruit from a tree by a sign which reads 'Trespasser Beware'.


The decoration to the body incorporates bright cut engraved stemmed fruiting blackberry branches accented with butterflies.


The scent bottle retains the original hinged cover ornamented with a continuation of bright cut engraved decoration.


The cover opens to reveal the original glass stopper, glass vessel to the interior in addition to the gilt interior.


This impressive Victorian scent bottle is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.


This impressive scent bottle was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Sampson Mordan & Co.

Condition


This antique scent bottle is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp; this piece shows little signs of use or handling.

The glass vessel and stopper are in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of bottle and interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Victorian silverware.
