Description


These exceptional antique Edward VIII sterling silver toast racks have a plain trapezoid form.


Each toast rack has two compartments divided by a wirework geometric arch style frame supporting a central applied triangular shaped carrying handle.


The hallmarked square base of each toast rack is supported by four ball style feet.


This impressive set of antique silver toast racks are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, secured with a push fit catch.


The interior of the box cover bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb Ltd, 220 Regent Street, London. W'.

These antique sterling silver toast racks are an exceptional gauge of silver and exceptional quality for their type.

Each piece is in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the wirework base are all very clear; the hallmarks have been deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
