Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver snuff box has a rectangular form with rounded corners.


The surface of the cover and underside of this Georgian snuff  box are embellished with engraved decoration in swirl designs, incorporating a rectangular cartouche to the centre.


The cartouche to the underside of the box is vacant and the cartouche to the cover bears contemporary engraved initials, which have wear in keeping with age.


The rounded sides of this Georgian snuff box are encompassed with moulded ribbed decoration.


This box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover featuring a plain rounded thumbpiece.


The interior of each compartment has impressive gilding.

Condition


This antique Georgian snuff box is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box rim and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all clear.
