An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George II English sterling silver snuffer tray made by John Cafe; an addition to our Georgian silverware collection

This exceptional antique George II sterling silver snuffer tray has a rectangular incurved form with rounded corners and a Chippendale style border.


The surface of this silver tray is plain and unembellished, with an applied border to the shaped rim.


This Georgian silver snuffer tray is fitted with a cast volute scroll decorated handle with a plains scrolling thumbpiece.


This fine example of 18th century silverware is supported by four cast sterling silver hoof style feet.


The underside of this exceptional Georgian silver snuffer tray bears the contemporary engraved initials 'CWE' amidst a simplified star motif.


This exceptional tray, crafted by the renowned & collectable London silversmith John Cafe, is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

This antique Georgian silver snuffer tray is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The applied ornamentation is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the snuffer tray are very clear; the second portion of the maker's mark has wear but remains legible.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silver.
