Description


This exceptional antique George II sterling silver snuffer tray has a rectangular incurved form with rounded corners and a Chippendale style border.


The surface of this sterling silver tray is plain and unembellished, with an applied border to the shaped rim.


This Georgian silver snuffer tray is fitted with a cast opposing scroll decorated handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece.


This fine example of 18th century silverware is supported by four cast sterling silver hoof style feet.


This exceptional tray was crafted by the renowned & collectable London silversmith John Cafe.

Condition


This antique silver snuffer tray is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The applied ornamentation is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the snuffer tray are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
