This exceptional antique George III sterling silver tankard has a plain cylindrical tapering form onto a swept circular foot.

The plain body of this Georgian silver tankard is encompassed with an applied girdle, in addition to bands of tooled decoration.

This exceptional antique tankard retains the original hinged hallmarked domed cover surmounted with a fine and impressive cast silver lobed thumbpiece and encircled with tooled ornamentation.

The hinge is decorated with pendant drop style ornamentation to the upper portion of the handle.

This antique tankard is fitted with an S scroll handle ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'L.I.E', in addition to a plain heart shaped terminal.

The circular spreading foot is encircled with further tooled decoration.

This Georgian sterling silver tankard is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tankard and interior of the cover are all very clear.
