Description


This exceptional antique George V English sterling silver tazza has a plain circular form onto a cylindrical spreading foot, in a classic English style.


The surface of the tazza is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'JGM' enveloped with crossed tied scrolling leaf design, all in the classic Charles II style.


The rim of the body and foot of this sterling silver tazza are each encircled with an impressive chased alternating Roman leaf decorated border.


The underside of the foot bears the retailer's mark 'Crichton Bros, New York & London'.


This exceptional tazza is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

Condition


This antique tazza is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The chased decoration is all very sharp and the bright cut engraved initials are very crisp.

Full hallmarks to the underside of the tazza are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the superior gauge of silver.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
