Sterling Silver Tea Caddy - Antique George V (1911)

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver tea caddy has a conjoined square and quatrefoil shaped form; this is an unusual and highly desirable shape.

The surface of this impressive 20th century tea caddy is plain and unembellished, accented with applied borders to the upper and lower rims.

This antique sterling silver tea caddy retains the original hallmarked hinged cover, surmounted with the original square faceted cast silver finial.

This exceptional example of antique teaware is supported by four impressive cast silver feet, realistically modelled in the form of scallop shells.

The tea caddy was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Pairpoint Brothers; the hallmark was registered to Alfred James Pairpoint, Francis William Pairpoint & Arthur Walter Pairpoint.

This antique 20th century tea caddy is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The applied and cast decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddy and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
