Description

This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver tea strainer has been realistically modelled in the form of a tennis racket.

This unusual strainer has a rounded form replicating the details of the interwoven strings to the racket head.

The upper portion of the silver tea strainer is fitted with a plain rest further surmounted with a simplified tennis ball.

The shaft and grip of the tennis racket handle is segmented with a band of embossed decoration and the butt cap is represented with a subtly flared terminal.

The lain rounded rim/ beam of the racket head bears the registration 'RD 510385', in addition to the full hallmarks.
