Description


This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver teapot has an circular rounded form onto a plain collet style foot.


The lower portion of the body is embellished with embossed fluted decoration.


The flared shoulders of the teapot are ornamented with an applied gadroon decorated border accented with two large leaf and floral motifs in addition to a simplified leaf design to the centre of each side.


This fine Edwardian silver teapot is fitted with a plain flush hinged hallmarked cover embellished with further embossed fluted decoration to the domed portion; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.


The cover retains the original sterling silver and carved painted wood fluted finial.


The teapot is fitted with the original carved painted wood C shaped handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece.


This antique sterling silver teapot has an impressive flat topped swan necked spout with further embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion.


The underside of this impressive teapot bears the retailer's icon/mark 'Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England' in addition to the registration number '53430'.

Condition


This antique Edwardian silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The embossed and applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the teapot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Edwardian silverware.
