An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver Art Deco christening set - boxed; an addition to our collection of silver christening gifts

This exceptional antique George VI sterling silver christening set consists of a napkin ring, an egg cup and a spoon.


Both the egg cup and napkin ring have a cylindrical form, encompassed with engine turned decoration.


The body of the egg cup incorporates impressive and iconic Art Deco style tiered designs and the silver napkin ring features a geometric shaped vacant cartouche.


The anterior surface of the silver spoon is embellished with further impressive engine turned decoration.


The reverse surface of the spoon is plain and features a rounded heel to the bowl.


The pieces of this antique Art Deco silver christening set are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, secured with a hinged catch.


Each piece of this impressive christening set was crafted by Birmingham silversmiths Ernest Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie of Sanders & Mackenzie, in 1937.

Date: 1937

This antique Art Deco silver christening set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The original box has some blemishes to the satin interior and is in excellent presentation condition in keeping with age.

The engine turned decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior surface of the napkin ring, underside of the egg cup, in addition to the reverse of the spoon handle, are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.
