Description

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver three piece tea set consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.

The pieces of this Art Deco style silver tea set have a plain rectangular shaped form with incurved corners onto a collet style base.

The body of each piece is plain and embellished with an applied moulded border paralleling the incurved shaped rim.

The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover and retains the original Bakelite and silver topped chamfered rectangular finial.

This antique teapot is fitted with the original Bakelite angular handle with an elevated thumbpiece and incurved ornamentation to the lower portion of the handpiece.

The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with angular sterling silver handles, reflecting the same design as that to the teapot.

The teapot has an impressive swept spout ornamented with a stepped design to the nadir and a continuation of the shoulders to the upper plateau.

The underside of each piece bears the registration number and retailer's mark 'Reg No 801530, Fattorini, Bradford'.
