Description


This exceptional antique silver tea set, in sterling standard, has been modelled in the Queen Anne style.


The lower portion of of each George V piece is embellished with embossed fluted decoration.


The upper portion of each piece of this Mappin and Webb tea set is plain and unembellished.


The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with further fluted decoration to the domed portion and is surmounted with a carved stained wood and sterling silver fluted, cushion shaped finial.


The teapot retains the original angular carved stained wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece.


The teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout ornamented with further embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion.


The cream jug and sugar bowl have plain angular sterling silver handles ornamented with plain moulded decoration to each handpiece.


The underside of the teapot bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb, London'.

This antique Mappin and Webb tea set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The interior of each piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and part hallmarks to the teapot cover are all very clear.
