This antique Victorian sterling silver toast rack has a tapering rectangular form to a swept base and four bracket feet.

This Victorian toast rack has six compartments divided by a large angular arch style frame, subtly graduating in size.

The central arch is surmounted with a lozenge shaped carrying handle accented with impressive scrolling leaf supports.

The swept base is embellished with exceptional bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration.

The rack is supported by four bracket style feet encompassed with an applied scrolling border in addition to a continuation of bright cut engraved scrolling ornamentation.

The underside of this impressive Victorian toast rack is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a griffon rampant.

Date: 1841

This antique silver toast rack is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration and crest are very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of Victorian silverware.
