This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver cream jug has been realistically modelled in the form of a watering can (otherwise known as a gardening watering pot).

The sterling silver body of this watering can cream jug is embellished with an impressive chased decorated stemmed rose design to either side.

The plain tapering spout terminates with a conical shaped watering can rose, featuring pierced decorated pouring holes.

The upper plateau of the piece is ornamentated with the contemorary engraved date 'NovR 10TH 1877' and fitted with a hinged cover incorporating a shaped thumbpiece.

This impressive watering can cream jug is fitted with two applied and moulded C shaped handles, one to the upper portion and a second to the posterior surface of the body; the second handle incorporates a pendant drop motif in junction with the lower socket.

This novely piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear.
