This fine antique George V sterling silver wax jack has an ovoid form to a waisted pedestal and circular spreading circular base.

The body and hallmarked push fit upper portion of the wax jack are ornamented with wirework decoration.

The upper portion of the body is surmounted with a push fit plain circular drip pan with a cylindrical sleeve.

The body of the wax jack is fitted with a ribbed winding finial to one side, and a snuffer to the other.

The conical shaped snuffer is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest depicting a demi lion.

The foot of this antique wax jack is fitted with an impressive scrolling handle ornamented with a plain curved oval thumbpiece.

Both the foot and the thumbpiece are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.

The wax jack retains the original wax coil.

This antique wax jack is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the foot and part hallmarks to the rim of the upper portion of the body are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
