Description

This magnificent vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver wine cooler has a plain circular campania shaped form to a circular spreading foot.

The surface of this impressive vintage silver wine cooler plain and unembellished.

The flared upper rim of the cooler is encircled with an exceptional applied gadroon decorated border incorporating alternating scrolling leaf designs, all in the classic Regency style.

This magnificent cooler is fitted with two exceptional cast sterling silver handles, each embellished with leaf ornamentation emanating from a plain circular knop to the centre of the textured, fluted handpiece.

This exceptional vintage silver wine cooler retains the original hallmarked detachable ring style cover/rim, allowing access to the original detachable liner.

This cooler, crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Garrard & Co Ltd, bears the retailer's mark 'Garrard & Co Ltd, 112 Regent Street, London W.1' to the underside.

Solid silver wine coolers with the original, hallmarked liners and detachable rims are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
