This exceptional antique silver and glass cruet set consists of a large mustard/condiment shaker, two small mustard/condiment shakers and two oil/vinegar bottles on the original stand.
The original George III cut glass containers have a cylindrical form with swept shoulders to a tapering neck.
Each bottle is fitted with the original impressive sterling silver cylindrical cover, accented with an applied rope twist decorated border to the rim and encircled with bands of tooled decoration; as often the case with such Georgian examples, these covers are not hallmarked.
The shakers have a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular foot; the plain body of each piece is encircled with bands of applied rope twist decoration.
Each shaker retains the original hallmarked push fit domed covers, embellished with pierced scrolling leaf and floral motif decoration.
The cover of each glass bottle and sterling silver shaker features an impressive cast silver flame style finial.
The components of this impressive antique cut glass cruet set are displayed on the hallmarked plain cinquefoil shaped form stand.
The stand incorporates a plain frame with five receiver rings and two stopper rings held on four cast sterling silver opposing scrolling leaf decorated legs.
The plain stand is ornamented with a cast scrolling leaf bordered cartouche displaying the engraved initials 'ISG'.
The frame incorporates the original, hallmarked detachable central baluster shaped carrying handle embellished with scrolling leaf decoration to the centre of the handpiece; the handpiece secures with a screw fitment to the underside.
