This exceptional George VI sterling silver and enamel antique powder compact with mirror has a square form with cut corners.

The subtly convex anterior surface is embellished with an exceptional enamel panel depicting a pheasant in flight with a rural setting background, accented with a guilloche enamel border.

The enamel panel is bordered with a band of simplified bead and spindle decoration.

The reverse of the vintage compact, which is also subtly convex in nature, is embellished with a panel of impressive engine turned decoration.

The compact is fitted with an incurved thumbpiece to one side of the push fit catch.

This impressive compact opens to reveal the original integrated mirror and powder compartment; this compartment retains the original gilding and cosmetic puff.

This antique powder compact with mirror is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The original mirror and interior has a few surface blemishes in keeping with age and use.

The enamel are in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior surface of the base are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
