This exceptional antique George V sterling silver box has a circular tapering basket shaped form.

The body of this antique enamel trinket box is embellished with impressive engine turned decoration replicating the details of a basket weave.

Either side of the body features an applied rope twist decorated handle.

The box is fitted with a subtly domed, hallmarked hinged cover, embellished with an exceptional guilloche enamel panel accented with five central enamel rose designs amidst stemmed foliate designs, with further blue floral motifs to the outer circumference.

The rim of the cover and circular spreading foot are encompassed with applied ribbed decorated borders.

The cover opens to reveal the original gilded interior.

This antique enamel trinket box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The engine turned decoration is all very crisp.

The enamel panel is in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and interior of the cover are all very clear in keeping with age.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
