Description


This fine antique sterling silver vesta case has a plain rectangular rounded form.


The anterior surface of this antique vesta case is embellished with an exceptional rectangular enamel panel depicting a nude female character reclinging amidst rough ocean waves.


This fine silver vesta match case is fitted with a ring loop attachment to one side and has a sprung hinged cover which incorporates a plain thumbpiece.


The surface of the cover is ornamented with a continuation of the enamel scene to the body.


There is an integrated serrated panel/match striker to the underside.


The reverse surface and sides of the case are plain and unembellished.

Condition


This antique vesta case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The enamel panel is in perfect condition.

Import hallmarks struck to the surface of cover have wear in keeping with age and location.

The full hallmarks to the rim of the body are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this Edwardian silverware.
