This exceptional antique George V English sterling silver inkwell has a plain square form with incurved corners.

The shaped surface of this impressive inkwell is plain and unembellished, with applied reed decorated borders to the upper rim and plateau base.

This antique sterling silver inkwell is fitted with an impressive flat topped hinged hallmarked sterling silver cover, incorporating a shaped thumbpiece to the anterior edge.

The cover opens to reveal a sunken well and removable glass ink liner.

The body of this impressive inkwell incorporates a large glass ink bottle, ornamented with a star cut motif to the underside and secured with a hallmarked bracket and screwfitment.

This antique silver inkwell is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The inkwell has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The glass body is in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body, in addition to part hallmarks to the bracket, screw and interior of the cover are all very clear.
