This exceptional antique George V ivory handled, sterling silver ink blotter has a rectangular, arched rocker form.
The anterior face of the blade is plain and embellished with an undulating rivet design in the Arts and Crafts style.
The blotter retains the original and exceptional ivory handle fitted to hallmarked sterling silver incurved sockets accented with a fixed hinge and scrolling leaf decorated terminal; this ornamentation is encompassed with a paralleling simplified tooled border.
Either end of the rocker blotter features a hinged bar clasp which allows access to the original detachable sheets of ink blotter paper; this enables the blotting paper to be changed with ease.
This impressive example of antique silverware bears the retailer's mark 'Clark, 33 New Bond Street'.
