Sterling Silver and Ivory Handled Presentation Trowel - Antique Victorian (1881)


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver presentation trowel has a rounded triangle shaped blade.

The anterior face of the blade is ornamented with fine and impressive bright cut engraved interlacing scrolling leaf decoration to the lower portion accented with a simple border paralleling the blade and incorporating a geometric lozenge motif to the tip.

The reverse surface of the blade is plain, apart from the full hallmarks.

This antique trowel retains the original fine and impressive carved ivory handle and plain angular bolster.

This impressive Victorian trowel is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with the original working locking mechanism and key.

This antique trowel is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.

The presentation box is in excellent condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the trowel are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
