This exceptional pair of antique mother of pearl fish servers consists of a serving knife and fork.

The sterling silver blade of the knife has a sabre form and the drop of the fork has an incurved shaped form.

The anterior of the knife and drop of the fork are embellished with bright cut engraved simplified stemmed floral and foliate arrays, incorporating perched bird designs.

The posterior surface of each shaped blade is plain and embellished with a paralleling simple border to the incurved edge.

These antique Victorian sterling silver fish servers are fitted with exceptional, large mother of pearl handles.

The hallmarked silver ferrule and terminal of each server is encompassed with bands of embossed floral and foliate decoration.

These exceptional examples of mother of pearl fish flatware are fitted to the impressive original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, which secures with a push fit catch.

The interior of the box features the retailer's mark 'Manoah Rhodes & Sons LD, Goldsmiths, Bradford'.

These antique mother of pearl fish servers are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The original box is in exceptional presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp and the embossed ornamentation is very sharp; the definition of these details indicates these servers have seen little or no use.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each blade, ferrule and terminal are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Victorian silverware.
