An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver and mother of pearl fish servers - boxed; an addition to our silver flatware collection

This exceptional pair of antique Victorian mother of pearl handled sterling silver fish servers consists of a serving knife and fork.


The blade of the knife and the drop of the fork have an incurved shaped form.


The anterior of the knife is embellished with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf and stemmed floral sprays amidst trellis designs paralleling the shaped side of the blade.


The drop of the fork is ornamented with a bright cut engraved scroll and scalloped leaf designs accented with a plain border extending to the tines.


The posterior surface of each shaped blade is plain and embellished with a paralleling simple border to the incurved edge.


These antique sterling silver fish servers are fitted with fine and impressive carved mother of pearl handles ornamented with bead and petal decoration to the terminal.


The hallmarked silver ferrule of each server is encompassed with bands of embossed decoration.


These antique fish servers are fitted to the impressive original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, which secures with a push fit catch.

Each antique sterling silver server is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The interior of the presentation box is in exceptional condition; the exterior of the box has some losses to the leatherette and has been professionally coloured.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each blade and ferrule are all very clear.
