£2,195.00

A stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian synthetic ruby and 0.62 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold and silver set dress ring; part of our diverse antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections

SKU A6206

This stunning, fine and impressive antique ruby and diamond ring has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a silver setting.

The pierced decorated, silver set mount is ornamented with a feature collet set oval mixed cut synthetic ruby to the centre of the design.

The ruby is encircled by ten collet set Old European cut diamonds.

The flared paired-leaf design ring shoulders are each ornamented with an 18ct yellow gold collet set round cut synthetic ruby and embellished with eleven pave set Dutch cut diamonds.

The paired leaf design integrated with the main setting and joins with the plain ring shank at a subtle chevron design.

This antique cluster ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct yellow gold and silver.

The ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card.

*NOTE: Contrary to what many people may think, the word "synthetic" does not mean fake when it comes to gemstones. In order for a material to be called "synthetic" it must have a natural counterpart. A synthetic ruby will have the same chemical composition as a natural ruby and therefore have an almost identical appearance to the naked eye.

The first ruby formed by melting two smaller rubies together was in 1817, and the first microscopic crystals created from alumina in a laboratory in 1837.

Common practice was to set and enhance fine quality antique jewellery with vibrant and colourful synthetic stones.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
