This exceptional antique William III Britannia standard* silver brandy pan has a plain circular rounded form with a flared rim.
The surface of the pan is plain and unembellished, with a subtle planished silver finish.
The pan is fitted with an impressive turned carved wood handle with a hallmarked plain cylindrical Britannia silver tapering socket, in addition to a square terminal in junction with the body.
The underside of the vessel bears the engraved initials 'HEM'.

* Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697.
