This exceptional, fine and impressive antique diamond pendant has been crafted in platinum.
The rectangular shaped pendant displays a feature hand painted miniature enamel scene of a crowned lady in formal coronation influenced attire, sat before a cross dressed with swags of luxurious fabric.
The painted portrait is further ornamented with a bearded man's head to the female's lap; this may be a portrayal of the beheading of John the Baptist, presented to Herodias on a platter.
The miniature is simply painted in shades of vibrant gold and blue.
This exceptional antique enamel pendant is held within a feature platinum rectangular frame, encompassed with eighteen individually collet set Old European cut diamonds, totalling 0.80ct.
The diamonds are conjoined with a millegrain decorated scalloped border, completing the portraits frame design.
The upper border of the pendant features the millegrain decorated ring loop, incorporating an impressive collet set feature 0.48ct pear cut diamond.
The pendant suspends from a 46cm/18", 18 ct white gold trace chain which secures to the reverse with a conventional spring loaded bolt ring clasp.
This impressive pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum.
This fine example of antique jewellery is supplied with an independent diamond grading report certificate for the feature diamond, in addition to an independent diamond grading report card for the supporting stones.
