This exceptional vintage cast sterling silver three piece condiment set consists of a salt pot, a pepper pot and a mustard pot.
Each piece has been realistically modelled in the form of a frog.
The body of each piece of this vintage condiment set is embellished with details reproducing the frog's anatomical features and skin.
The fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked flush hinged cover/head; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece.
The mustard pot retains the original spoon, with a plain fork-tongue decorated terminal.
Both the salt cellar and pepper pot are ornamented to the pot of the head with corresponding pierced holes.
The exceptional salt and pepper shakers are fitted with the original stoppers to the underside.
Each silver frog is further ornamented with the original bead eyes.
The items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system, the condiment containers are struck with the date letter 'r' and the mustard spoon bears the date letter 'q'.
This exceptional novelty silver frog condiment set was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd.
