A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique George III English sterling silver samovar; an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection

This magnificent antique George III sterling silver samovar has a plain urn shaped form supported by a spreading circular pedestal foot onto a plain square base and four bracket style feet.


The body of this impressive antique Georgian samovar is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms* depicting party per pale, on the dexter a fess dancetty between three cross srosslets fitchy and on the sinister six mullets.


The upper rim of the body is encircled with a band of applied bead decoration.


The anterior surface of the body incorporates a fine and impressive spigot accented with applied reed decoration to the upper surface, incorporating the impressive original T-shaped handle.


The samovar is fitted with a pair of reed decorated narrow loop handles with impressive leaf decorated upper terminals.


This impressive Georgian samovar retains the original plain waisted, domed hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an impressive sterling silver urn style finial.


The surface of the cover is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a griffin segreant per fess, in addition to a further band of applied bead decoration to the upper portion.


The lower section of the plain pedestal foot is encompassed with bead ornamentation.


The pedestal foot and base secure to the body with a screw fitment to the underside.


This magnificent antique samovar is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

This antique samovar is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved heraldry is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and surface of the body, in addition to the part hallmarks to the sleeve of the cover are all very clear in keeping with age and location.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
