This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver and mother of pearl fruit/dessert cutlery set consists of twelve knives and twelve forks.


The blades of the knives have a rounded, pointed form and the forks each have three tines/prongs.


The surfaces of each piece are plain and unembellished; apart from the featured hallmarks.


Each piece of this silver dessert set is fitted with the original and impressive, unusual baluster-style carved mother of pearl handle.


All the knives and forks retain the original sterling silver cylindrical ferrules.


These silver and mother of pearl fruit knives and forks are fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged oak lift up lid box.


The interior of the box retains the original velvet lining.


The original presentation box features an inset panels to the interior rim displaying the retailer's mark 'Z. Barraclough & Sons, Silversmiths, Leeds'.


This impressive canteen box is ornamented with a brass vacant shaped cartouche to the lid.


This exceptional Edwardian service was crafted by James Henry & Herbert Barraclough of Z Barraclough & Sons.

These antique silver and mother of pearl fruit knives and forks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The original box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker and is in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
