This stunning, fine and impressive Victorian locket has been crafted in 16ct yellow gold.
The antique gold locket has an oval-shaped design with a satin finish.
The anterior face is ornamented with a central feature 0.15ct Old European cut diamond, pavé set within a stellate shaped setting.
This central star motif features four blue hot enamel decorated points, with further hot enamel emanating from the upper and lower portions to a lobed fan design.
Each fan design is ornamented with nine pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, totalling 0.30ct and graduating in size dependent on location.
The anterior surface is further ornamented with plain ball motifs to the apex and nadir inset segments.
The posterior face of this hinged locket is embellished with paralleling engraved decorated borders.
The side of each portion is further embellished with an applied scalloped style border.
This 1880's hinged locket opens to allow two photographs or small mementos to be placed behind removable, push fit transparent retainers.
The oval locket suspends from a contemporary 18ct yellow gold 18" curb chain via a plain tapering bale, securing with a conventional spring-loaded ring bolt fastening.
