These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mugs/tot cups have a tapering cylindrical form.


The surface of each solid silver mug is encircled with two fine and impressive broad bands of tooled decoration, in addition to the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a spur erect between two wings.


The upper rim of each mug is encompassed with a plain applied moulded border.


Each mug is fitted with a plain C shaped handle, with tapering sockets.


The underside of each mug bears the retailer's mark 'Hunt & Roskell'.


These exceptional mugs retain the original gilded interiors.


These twelve impressive antique silver drinking tots are fitted to the original, fine and impressive hinged wood presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior.


The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Hunt & Roskell, Late Storr & Mortimer, London'.


These exceptional boxed antique silver mugs/tots were crafted by the renowned and important London silversmiths Robert Roskell, Alan Roskell & John Mortimer Hunt.


Such original examples are rare and becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

These boxed antique silver mugs are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each mug are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
