Each dish bears a plain applied elevated handpiece comprised of what would be the umbo of the natural shell.

These antique silver dishes are supported by three cast silver nautilus style shell feet.

These exceptional pieces of antique London silverware were crafted by the renowned silversmith John Emes.

Such period examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
