An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver pepper shakers modelled in the form of owls - boxed; an addition to our collectable silver collection

SKU C8323

These exceptional antique George V sterling silver peppers have been realistically modelled in the form of owls.

These silver pepperettes are embellished with embossed details reproducing the birds' feathers and anatomical features.

The head of each silver bird is embellished with pierced 'pepper' holes, in addition to the original bead eyes.

The underside of each owl features a circular hallmarked screw fit stopper.

This antique silver pepper set is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.

The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Dudley & Cox, Diamond Merchants & Silversmiths, Southsea'.

These exceptional peppers were crafted by the renowned silversmiths Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd.

Date: 1912

These antique silver peppers are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to each body and part hallmark to the bases are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of owl silverware.
