SKU C7300

This magnificent antique silver desk standish, in sterling standard, has an oval shaped form.

This Edwardian inkstand is plain and embellished with an embossed and applied scrolling leaf decorated border to the rim.

The decoration to the rim of this exceptional example of antique silverware incorporates a vacant shaped cartouche to either side.

This antique hallmarked silver inkstand is supported by four impressive applied Regency style feet embellished with leaf decoration.

The body of the inkstand incorporates two plain cylindrical ink bottle receivers, in addition to a central pedestal shaped receptacle to the centre; each hallmarked component secures to the underside with a screw fitment.

The impressive glass ink bottles each have a compressive spherical form, ornamented with cut glass decoration.

The lower portion of each bottle is fitted with a hallmarked sterling silver mount/foot; this fitment is a fine feature and indicates the high quality of the piece.

The upper portion retains the original hallmarked mount and domed hinged cover.

Each cover has scrolling leaf decoration to the rim and is surmounted with a circular baluster-shaped finial.

The central sterling silver receptacle/stamp box is ornamented with further scrolling leaf decoration and fitted with the original push fit cover composed with an exceptional sterling silver chamberstick.

The circular shaped capital features a fixed sconce ornamented with scrolling decoration to the rim.

The capital is supported by a swept column to a sunken well and scrolling leaf decorated drip pan.

The chamber candlestick is fitted with a C scroll handle, ornamented with a leaf decorated thumbpiece.

This exceptional example of Edwardian silverware retains the original snuffer, ornamented with further leaf decoration.

The snuffer conjoins to the chamberstick with a round link chain terminating the underside of the handpiece, and secures with a plain peg to the surface of the capital.

The underside of this magnificent inkstand bears the registration and retailer's mark '51396, Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England'.
