Victorian-era silver teapots carry historical significance and represent great craftsmanship and design. Sterling silver teapots from this era will typically have a rounded or oval body, accented with a curved spout. The teapots were commonly larger than those found in the Georgian period due to the further popularisation of tea and larger parties being hosted; this increased size accommodated this.

From the development of the craft, skilled workmen would create flush or incorporated hinges to the covers which enabled elaborate and detailed engraved decoration to expand across the upper plateau of the piece. As with all elements during this time period, Queen Victorian influenced cultural choices, and for teaware this incorporated engraved, chased and embossed floral decoration, cherub/putto designs and imagery inspired by the popularised literature.

Furthermore, the intricate decoration of the piece, Victorian silver teapots have ornate handles, only adding to the elegance of the overall piece and displaying the enhanced skill of the silversmiths of the time.
