Sterling Silver Candlesticks - Antique George V (1913)

These exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver candlesticks have a cylindrical form onto a square spreading base.

The capitals are embellished with impressive embossed swag and foliate decoration and retain the original hallmarked square sconces.

Each sconce is ornamented with a paralleling applied bead decorated border.

The capitals are supported by cylindrical columns, embellished to the upper portion with further embossed swag and pendant decoration, below a plain girdle.

The lower portion of each column features a plain rounded knop to a spreading square foot.

The rims are encompassed with bead decoration, flanking embossed swag decoration reflecting that of the column.

Both of these impressive sterling silver candlesticks have weighted bases and bear baize coverings to the undersides.

These antique early 20th century candle holders are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

There are some minor surface blemishes, as to be expected with such original candlesticks.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base are very clear.
