A fine and impressive 17th century German silver gilt tumbler cup made in Augsburg; part of our continental silverware collection

This fine antique silver tumbler cup has a plain circular rounded form.


The surface of this antique cup is embellished with two bands of tooled decoration.


The interior and exterior surfaces retain the original gilding.


The base of the silver tumbler cup retains the silversmith's centre punch mark.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of this impressive cup include:

Maker's mark: Johan Christoph Treffler

City mark: Augsburg, Germany
