This fine and impressive antique ring has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold.
The Victorian ring displays a plain and unembellished, shield shaped bloodstone panel to the centre of the setting.
The flared ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the hallmarked ring shank.
This men's bloodstone signet ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the gold guarantee mark (crown), the 18ct gold fineness mark (18), the London Assay Office hallmark (leopard's head) and the date letter for 1895 (U).
NOTE: Bloodstone is a mineral more formally known as heliotrope. The classic, most recognisable opaque bloodstone is green jasper with red inclusions of hematite; these definable inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood. This vitreous stone has many traditions and superstitions associated to it, from the ability to slow bleeding of wounds, to bringing favour, courage and endurance to the owner.
Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
