This stunning vintage opal engagement ring has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.
The pierced decorated setting is embellished with a stunning feature claw set 4.92ct emerald cut fire opal.
The opal is encircled by eighteen pavé set modern brilliant round cut diamonds, totalling 1ct.
The trifurcating, elevated ring shoulders meld with the plain ring shank with a simplified cuff design.
This impressive vintage ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the maker's mark (S&B), the gold guarantee mark (crown), 18ct fineness mark (750), the London Assay Office hallmark (leopard's head) and date letter for 1976 (B).
The opal dress ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.
Such vintage examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
NOTE: A fire opal is a transparent to translucent gemstone, with a typical colour of yellow, orange or red. As with all opals, the fire opal can be considered a moderatly soft gemstone and care should be taken around water, heat and solvents.
