This exceptional, fine and impressive Albert watch chain has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold.
This antique chain is composed of rounded curb links, graduating in size with broad feature links to the centre.
This Albert watch chain is fitted with the original hallmarked swivel links clasp and T-bar to the centre.
Each link is hallmarked with the 9ct gold marks (9, 375) and the T-bar bears these fineness marks in addition to the maker's mark for S Bros (SBRs); this maker is part of a missing register and can be determined as Saunders Brothers of Augusta Street, Birmingham.
The impressive substantial antique Albert chain is also hallmarked to one of the principal links with the Chester Assay Office mark and the date letter for 1881 (s).
Such chains with large feature links are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
